"Hums" Extravaganza in the Char Kway Teow
I can count about 20 or so "Hums" (translated as cockles in Hokkien).
This is the highlight of the char kway teow from Hai Kee.
My S$3 plate of Char Kway Teow
Even though there's only "hums", bean sprouts and eggs
as the main ingredients, the char kway teow was superb!
The Long Queue at Hai Kee
The uncle took the pain to cook the char kway teow
one plate at a time. This maintained the char kway
teow's consistency and also the reason for the long queue.
